May has arrived! Mid spring, weather has been great and the bite is heating up. The waters are starting to warm. Bait fish are starting to gather and gator fish are on the move.Snook fishing has been great the past week anglers are targeting them along docks, seawalls, and mangrove shorelines. Big snook can be seen laying up on the shallows, anglers are using live bait and Doa 4 inch jerk baits along with Rapala skitter walks for best results. The tarpon bite was great last week, anglers enjoyed targeting juvenile tarpon along docks and mangrove shorelines. Both sides of the tides produce fish. Live baits free lined with the tide along with Doa 4 inch jerk bait, trigger the strikes. Schooling fish can be seen rolling early morning and evening. Dock lights also great area to target juvenile tarpon with a fly rod.Jack crevalle schools have been abundant all through the intercoastal waterways. The jacks are very aggressive, striking live bait and any surface bait like a Rapala skitter V or 4 inch Doa jerk baits along.Well that is the fishing report for the past week, hope you all enjoyed. Remember, you can’t catch them from the couch, so get out there and get hooked up.
