LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, CLEAR & 78 DEGREES
This Lake Allatoona Bass Fishing Guide Report has been brought to you exclusively by Matt Driver
Bass fishing is great and we are seeing good numbers. Fish can be caught on just about anything you want to throw. Spinner baits and buzz bait fished parallel along bluff walls from Victoria to little river. Top water has been good as well. Baits like the Spro Dawg, Boing and Hydro Pop have been producing as well. Fish are schooling some and when they are up you can drop the hammer on them. The full moon may affect the bite some but we don't believe it will change much. Reminder that the Fishing for a Mission tournament will be October 6th at Gate Wood. $5000 first prize and a concert by Craig Campbell after event. 404-456-6094. www.5x3nation.com

Line side fishing is fair but the bite on Lake Allatoona has been really challenging to say the least lately. Some morning the fish are busting top water and can be caught on almost anything. Then there are days you can ride to whole lake and not mark one school of fish on your Lowrance. There are two bites going on. There is a decent live bait bite in or near the river channel at the Delta over to Sweet Water Creek and in the river channel out of the mouth of Little River and these fish are feeding on very small baits. Small to mid threadfins and shiners are working best on Lake Allatoona right now on the north end of the lake. There is also a top water bite going on most mornings during the week in sight of the dam. Use your Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan machines to find the fish faster. When these fish are up, they will hit just about everything. We still prefer a popping cork with a pop n fly. After these fish go down, try trolling a Mack Far three arm umbrella rig in all white. We are having our best bite pulling my rigs 50 feet behind the boat minutes after the fish go down. This time of year is tough on Allatoona. This is the main reason we spend so much time on Carters Lake in the fall. Allatoona isn't and never has been a good fall lake. If you are planning on chasing line sides this month think hard about making a road trip over to Carters or Lanier. The fish are bigger and a lot more active.
Firstbite will be running our first ever special starting next month. Mention GON while booking and you can book a half day trip on Carters for up to four anglers for $350. This is the first time in 15 years I have ever offered a half day trip on Carters. This deal begins October and ends November 30. Call and book your trip today. All trips must be paid for in full at the time of booking to get this deal. 770-827-6282.
