LAKE LANIER IS UP .19 FEET, THE MAIN LAKE AND CREEKS ARE CLEAR IN PARTS WITH TURNOVER EVIDENT IN OTHERS & 70 DEGREES
Bass fishing is good. The water temperatures have dropped to 70 degrees, and the lower lake is showing signs of turnover in more places. There are still fish on the brush, but they are not concentrated there like they were a 2 weeks ago. The bait and fish are starting to spread out more and there continues to be a definite increasing presence of bait and fish back further in the creeks. In the mornings, we are working a jig and a crank bait in 10 to 15 feet of water on rocky points and islands. Once the sun gets up good, we have still been running the brush with top water, swim baits, and jerk baits as well we are starting to work some rocky bluffs with a jig. I have the following dates remaining in October: 29, 30, as well as November 1. Give me a call and reserve your date.

Striper fishing is fair to poor. Unfortunately, given the high pressure, winds and turnover forecast for this week striper fishing does not look promising. The fish have scattered lake wide without any clear pattern. The top water has slowed to stop and very few schooling fish have been spotted. However, if you are not a deer hunter and want to wet a line I would try mid lake by pulling Herring and Trout on free lines while casting a 1/2 oz buck tail jig to points. Don't forget the umbrella rig. You can cover a lot of water and they can be very effective when by clipping points. I have had some reports of a few fish being caught in the rivers but that too has slowed. The good news is the turnover will be over soon and we can get back to catching big stripers.
