Bass fishing is good. The lower lake fish are shallower and schooling in the creek mouths over deeper water, as larger pods of bait are continuing to form. We have been catching these schooling fish on Zoom pearl white Flukes, the Sammy 115 in a variety of colors and the Sworming Hornet Fish Head Spin. When the bite slows, switch to a drop shot finesse worm in Morning Dawn Red Flake. Focus on bridge pilings or points on the side the drops the sharpest for this bite. Also check points that drop sharply into deeper water to be holding fish. A jig or a worm are great choices here.
Rick is available for Guide Trips on Hartwell daily. Come fish with the local legend on Lake Hartwell, Professional Angler Rick Steckelberg.
