LAKE OCONEE IS FULL, 74 DEGREES
Bass fishing is fair. The lower lake is clear and it is stained mid lake and up the rivers. Start with a white 1/2 ounce buzz bait fished on the sea walls in the back of the coves and creeks. Switch to a small crank bait after the sun gets up. Use a number 7 shad rap. You can also fish a rattle trap in the same areas. Soft plastics under docks will also put a few more fish in the boat. Shakey heads with a zoom finesse worm in green pumpkin or a Texas rigged zoom u-tail worm in green pumpkin.
Line side fishing is good. Start looking for the striper in the middle of the lake. The river bend area is always a good place to start in the fall. Use a Capt. Mack’s umbrella rig to locate the fish then you can drop your live bait to them. Shad are working better than the shiners.
Crappie fishing is very good. Use your Lowrance to locate the schools in the mouths of the major creeks.
