LAKE WEISS IS AT 3.0 FEET BELOW FULL POOL AND LIGHT STAINED AND 61-62 DEGREE'S
Bass Fishing is Good and a lot of bass are shallow on sea walls and rocky rip rap banks and gravel points, a lot of fish are being caught in shallow stump flats also, Rat L Traps and Spinner Baits and shallow running crank baits are producing good. The top water bite has turned on also, Buzz Baits are producing some good fish early and late. Some fish are still being caught on the creek and river channel ledges, 6-10 feet deep on crank baits, spinner baits, Pig and Jigs and Carolina rigged plastics. Submerged road beds and deeper main lake points are also producing some good Bass.
Crappie Fishing is Great and the last week has been awesome fishing with limits coming in almost every day. The Crappie are on the old Coosa river channel ledge from Cedar Bluff to Leesburg in 14-18 feet of water, any where there is stumps and brush. Spider rigging with live minnows is the way to catch these fall Crappie. Shooting docks is producing very few Crappie this fall. Night fishing with lights over structure with live minnows and vertical jigging over structure is really good also, right now.
Striper Fishing is Good and they have started showing up in the main lake and the Riverside area in good numbers, down lining live Shad 8-12 feet deep, is a great way to catch these hungry fall Stripers.
Trolling with a 1/4 ounce Jig with a 3 to 4 inch Sassy Shad body at speeds around 1.5 mph, is also a good way to catch these aggressive fish.
Catfish are biting good in the flats 8-20 feet deep on cut shad.
