Bass fishing is fair. The heavy rain last week has the lake up and muddy putting a damper on the great float n fly and jerk bait bite. The jig and crank bait is your best. We expect the bass fishing to be slow fishing for at least a week. We got a double whammy with colder weather and rain. The end of the day after the sun been up the shallows are a good place to find some decent fish. Find shallow areas near the channel or drop off for best result.

Line side fishing is fair. The rain has stained the lake from Little River to the dam. The north end of the lake is stain to muddy but is still holding a fish mostly white bass and small hybrids. These fish will not hit live bait. But they will take a spoon as fast as you drop it down to them. Look for these fish north of Galt’s Ferry. Mid lake is where you want to be if you are looking for stripers. Bartow Carver to the dam is the place to be for stripers and bigger schools of hybrids. These fish are not eating live bait either. Pull umbrella rigs mid lake as the fish have moved out of the river channel and up on the edge of it. Look for these fish to be in water 20 to 40 deep. Top water, trolling, spooning and live bait can all work this time of year, but what worked yesterday may not work tomorrow.
