LAKE HARTWELL IS 1.53 FEET OVER FULL. THE MAIN LAKE IS CLEAR AND 53 DEGREES, THE BACKS OF CREEKS ARE SLIGHTLY STAINED
From Jimbo's Guide Service on Lake Hartwell. Guide Rick Steckelberg.
Bass are starting to move into the creeks. We are still seeing some schooling activity in the creeks as well as the main lake. We have been catching these schooling fish on a 1/2 ounce Fish Head Spin in pearl white and albino colors trailed with a matching Super Fluke Jr. as well as a herring colored jerk bait. Also, keep a drop shot or a Capt. Mack spoon handy to drop vertically on fish you see on your graph. Rick has also been catching some nice fish in the creeks skipping a brown 3/8 ounce Sworming Hornet stinger jig on rocky points and shallow docks with deeper water close by. Use a Zoom twin tail grub in green pumpkin and make sure to use JJ's Magic to dye the tips Chartreuse. The ditch bite has not kicked in strongly yet on Hartwell, but with the water temperatures continuing to drop it shouldn't be long before this bite gets going. Come fish with Rick on Lake Hartwell and learn his top secret approaches and strategies that has propelled him to some awesome finishes in recent big tournaments.
