WEST POINT LAKE IS DOWN 6.3 FEET STAINED & 51 DEGREES
Bass fishing is fair as the cold air of winter returns. Water temperatures dropped. Hopefully a good shad die off is just around the corner which will make bass fishing a little better. Drop shot rigs on light line off the points and along the channel ledges in fifteen to twenty feet of water are catching those suspended fish. Deep diving crank baits will catch those fish that move up from time to time to feed. Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology can help cut the search time to find bait and fish. Up in the rivers, anglers are using some hard baits, but mostly jigs and worms. Pick apart the wood cover, especially the stumps and brush piles in seven feet of water and deeper. Out on the main lake, use the jigging spoons over deep stumps looking for that one big bite. Use the Sworming Hornet Lure Drop Shot Rig, Rapala DT10, Rapala Minnow Raps, 3/8 ounce and 1/2 ounce jigs and June bug worms. We have GPS Bass fishing locations and a BASS FISHING WEST POINT LAKE book for sale. Ask ken for a sample. This book is $39.00. If you would like a sample, send us an e mail to [email protected]
