JACKSON LAKE IS DOWN 2.2 FEET, STAINED & 48 DEGREES
Bass fishing is slow. The recent rains and heavy wind turned the water a little brown. Fishing is best on the lower end of the lake and the days with light wind should be the most productive. Number seven Shad Raps and the RS Shad Raps would be a good bait to use this week. Silver or white/chartreuse colors are always good here. Number five in the shad Raps and number fives in the RS models would be my choice. Look for the areas that have the best cover and if the water is real muddy, stay in close to the banks with your baits. The bass will move up on real muddy water and seek out the shallows. The heavy content of red clay will clog up the gills faster and the shallow points will clear up first. Also take along a short leader Carolina rig and use a red shad Culprit worm. The red shad color is ideal for this lake and the added rattle is what you need for those extra bites. Work the ledges after you crank up the shallows and remember to work the baits slow. Slow retrieves and a very slow moving Carolina rig will be the key. This will allow the bass more time to key in on you baits.
