LAKE WEISS IS AT 4.83 FEET BELOW FULL POOL AND STAINED, 43 DEGREES

Bass fishing is slow and the main lake is muddy and very few bass are being caught Little River and The Chattooga River is producing some fair fish on drop shot rigs, Shaky Head Jigs and Texas rigged and Carolina rigged Senko style worms.

Striper Fishing is fair and they are in the main river channel in Little River and the Coosa River. Trolling they river channel with a 1/4 ounce jig with a 3 to 4 inch Sassy Shad at 1 mph to .5 mph is great way to catch these fish in the winter.

Crappie fishing is great and the crappie are suspended in the river channels 8 to 10 feet deep in 9 to 14 feet of water on the ledges. Long line trolling with Jiffy Jigs in colors JJ13, J17, J20 and JJ26, is producing some great catches right now. Little Spring Creek is also producing some great catches. Casting a float and fly to these suspended fish is producing great also. 3 Mile creek is producing some fish around the bridge on minnows and a Float and Fly. The Chattooga River is also producing some fish casting a Float and Fly to the submerged stumps along the edge of the river channel and suspended in the river channel 6 to feet deep.
