Since my last report the fishing here in Biscayne Bay, offshore of Miami and in Flamingo has picked up and we are making some outstanding catches in all areas.
North Biscayne Bay has produced a few small to medium size snook during day trips along with sea trout, jacks and small barracudas.
South Biscayne Bay an area that I like to fish this time of year has finally started to produce some of the best catches; on recent charters my clients have had hot action from bluefish, Spanish mackerel, large ladyfish and large sea trout. At times the fish were jumping on Hookup lures tipped with a Gulp bait, Rapala Twitchin Raps and live baits fished under a Cajun Thunder float. On a recent group charter sponsored by Office Depot my three clients in four hours had 8 different species and a total of 42 fish all caught on KEY LARGO rods, Daiwa Lexa spinning reels and an assortment of baits and Mustad Ultra Point hooks.
The Finger Channels in South Bay have been producing hot action from mutton and mangrove snappers, gag, black and red groupers plus porgies, bluerunners and grunts.
The Patch Reefs offshore of Key Biscayne have had a mix of Spanish and small king mackerel, loads of 2 to 3 pound bluerunners, groupers, mutton, mangrove and yellowtail snappers, porgies, coronet fish and more.
I have had only mixed action when I have gone offshore.
Flamingo has been steadily producing catches of snook to 27 inches, redfish, sea trout and tripletail.
That catches us up for now!
Hope you enjoy the pictures!
