  • Kentucky Lake Fishing Report

The fishing is picking up every day, water temperatures are warming and that’s getting the fish feeding. I am catching most of my fish shallow 10 foot of water and less. I am fishing back in the bays looking for channel banks as fish are starting to migrate in to the creeks. I am fishing Spro Crank baits little john and little johns MD. Crawfish patterns and shad both. My favorite of course is one that Bag5baits.com is painting for me in the popular rootbeer color other colors are spring craw and nasty shad.

The jerkbait bite is still working as well I’m fishing a gold and black jerkbait, fishing it really slow with long pauses between then with a slow twitching action.
The Rat-L-Trap has really been catching more numbers for me the last few days, Rootbeer, Gold/black and Blue Shiner all in ½ ounce size. Been fishing these baits on 15lb seaguar AbrazX I love this line. With a Lews David Fritts cranking stick. I have been fishing the trap on shallow rocky bars and muscle beds out on the main lake flats south of paris.

The main lake is clearing up really good and they have the lake just about back down to winter pool, so that will help the main lake bite. I am fishing swim baits and A rigs out on the shallower drops. 7 to 12 foot on top and dropping into 15 to 20 ft depths. I am using my Lowrance structure scan to find bait and fish before I even fish any of these places, I really look for this bite and big fish to be caught in the next couple weeks doing this.

Ledge and Electronics Class, on the water!
Learn and get confidence by catching fish on the ledges
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.
Get on schools of fish and get them fired up! This is some of my favorite techniques on this amazing lake. Just give me a call or email me at
