  • Kentucky Lake Fishing Report

This spring has been different; we never got the rains we needed for the water to rise into the buck brush this year. This has caused the bass to find other favorable spawning areas. One of the most consistent that I have found is on rocky/gravel points. The fish seem to be spawning around five foot deep to me the best I can figure where my bites are coming from. A jig is producing the best bite, black and blue with a ZOOM baby brush hog.

Another bait that is working is a white spinnerbait, I am fishing it fairly fast focusing on the 2 to 6ft depth I am fan casting it on the gravel points and shallow bays and pockets. Be sure to use a trailer hook a lot of the fish will swipe at the lure trying to make it get out of its nesting area.

    Crappie,
The crappie have been doing good they have moved in shallower are 6 to 8 foot, also I have been catching some black crappies along the shallow cover and gravel banks. I’m fishing road runners and tubes in blue/chartreuse and white and blue. These colors have been best for me

    Bluegill and redear

With the warm week we have had this week its cause the bluegill and redear to start moving into the shallows. Look for them along shallow gravel shorelines and fish night crawlers or crickets.

Ledge and Electronics Class, on the water!
Learn and get confidence by catching fish on the ledges
If you’re new to Kentucky Lake or just haven’t been able to figure out how to fish the hundreds of miles of ledges that it has to offer. Then this class is for you. Fishing the ledges is something a lot of anglers struggle with. Understanding what ledges hold fish, when they hold fish and why they hold fish is something I can teach you. I will help you eliminate 90% of the lake in a short time. See what type of areas hold fish and how to find the bait.
Get on schools of fish and get them fired up! This is some of my favorite techniques on this amazing lake. Just give me a call or email me at
