JACKSON LAKE IS FULL, STAINED & UPPER 60’S

Bass fishing is good. The big bass bite is now in full swing. The lake is holding it's own with the water temperatures are in the upper 60's. Bass fishing is good all over the lake and anglers are scattered from one end to the other. Looking for that one big bite? Go to the backs of the small creeks and coves with the cranks. A lot of the largemouth are either on the bed or fixing to go to the bed and crank baits in the shallow running variety; crawfish color no.7 shad raps, and the deeper running ones like the wiggle wart in the green crayfish and perch colors is doing a number in the shallower water. Keep the line size down to the ten pound range and keep the bait in the water. For the top water lovers, now is the time to break out those Chug Bugs and Hooper Poopers. Once again stay in the back of the coves for best results. The spots are still hanging out on the points with an occasional hawg running about midway back into the creeks and coves. These spots are hitting a few of the spinnerbaits but you will catch a lot more on the no.5 Shad Raps and jointed shad raps. Jigs are also working around a few of the boat docks but it has to have a lot of wood in and around them to hold the larger males. A few fishermen are reporting a fair worm bite with an occasional two to three pounder being caught. Stay with the crank baits for the limits and then try the jig or plastic after mid day.
