Bass fishing is slow. Early in the morning, head up into the rivers and bigger creeks. Remember down sizing will be the key during the hot months. Small Zoom finesse worms on drop shot rigs and light Carolina rigs along the channel ledges are a sure bet on getting a strike. In the upper parts of the rivers try fishing with a Number 4 RS Shad Rap in the Fire Tiger color. Throw in shallows and slowly retrieve it through the dirty water all the way out to the cleaner water. For the most part, anglers are relying on Senko’s fished wacky rigged and worms and jibs to catch the majority of the bass. Most of the bass are small in size with an occasional 3 or 4 pounders showing up.
