White Bass fishing improved just a bit this past week, but it's still a little tough and we're having to work for a box of fish most days. We had two days when the fishing was a little better with Friday's the best when I had a three person 75 fish limit, and Saturday when Adam's twosome had 39 and my threesome had 54 Keepers. Most mornings we're experiencing a bit of Top Water action at the Windsock Point and then it's on to the Points and Roadbeds for our Slab fish. Check out the shallow water first (12'-20' depths) and then move deeper.
Early in the week, the action was really slow on the White Bass, so I tried the Catfish a couple of days and did pretty good. The Channel Cats were in 15' water in the timber after I dropped a bit of Sour Maize and Range Cubes to attract their attention. Danny Kings Punch Bait was the ticket to a nice box of Channels for the Turnbo Family from far West Texas (See Attached Picture).
Summer Fishing is a challenge for many but if you remain optimistic, don't waste too much time in any one location, and burn a little gas looking for the scattered fish, you'll usually wind up with a nice box of fish and a good fish fry! And remember, FALL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!!!
Good Luck and Good Fishing!
