WEISS LAKE IS AT 2.8 BELOW FULL POOL AND CLEAR TO LIGHT STAINED AND 64 TO 66 DEGREE'S
Bass fishing is barely far. Two thirds of the dock owners on the lake have brush piles around their docks and they try to keep them a secret. But if you will look where their rod holders are on the dock or where their chairs are it is really a no brainer to find the brush piles. Pitch small jigs in all black or all brown and work the brush hard and stay close to the docks. Bass patterns have changed a little bit and stick to points and drop offs down lake. The Shad Rap in fire tiger has been very good. They are still reasonably shallow but they seem to be pulling back to the deeper water.
Crappie fishing is great. Numbers are very good and artificial lures are working better than live bait. The majority of fish are being taken around and under the docks. The crappie have been deep early, but shallow up later in the day, in less than two feet of water. Green and white have been the better colors and also use a red and blue and white color combination. If you are going to fish a brush pile and don't have a weedless jig you can tie on a float.
