LAKE OCONEE IS FULL AND 55 DEGREES

Bass fishing is slow. The lake is full, light stained on the north end and up the rivers, main lake and Richland creek are clear. Water temperature is 48 to 55 degrees. Small crank baits fished around docks midway back in the coves and creeks. Most fish are coming in water around 10ft. deep. You can also find fish in the middle of the coves with submerged timber. Use a jig for the fish in and around the timber and on some of the humps down near the dam.

Striper/hybrid report by Mark Smith of Reel Time Guide Service. Phone 404 803 0741 or [email protected]

Striper fishing is good. Find the birds and bait and the fish will be close by. The birds are working all over the lake and the fish will be close by. Use an umbrella rig and fish it around the birds. You can also use a silver and black spoon fished in the same area under the working birds, live shiner's will also produce on down lines and plainer boards.

Crappie fishing is good. Spider rigging in the middle of the major creeks has been the best producer. Tip a dark color jig with a minnow for best results. Black/blue and blue/red have been the best colors over the last week. Use your Lowrance to locate the schools and the depth they are working.
