Not much new to report compared to the last few weeks on Richland Chambers! The Catfish are biting VERY GOOD, very few people are fishing and like most other Northeast Texas Lakes, we're in serious need of some rainfall. The bad news is that RC is 10.5 feet low and the only two Marinas still open are just about out of water at their boat ramps. Fisherman's Point Marina off FM 416 has dredged their ramp and cove already in an effort to continue to be able to launch boats, but if we don't get some measurable rainfall in the next couple of weeks, I'm guessing their ramp and Oak Cove Marina's ramp may be closed till we do get rainfall.

There's never many folks that fish in the Winter on RC and I'm guessing the low water conditions have persuaded even fewer to fish this year. Many days I don't see another boat on the lake during December through February! The folks that do fish are normally fishing for catfish and it's the ABSOLUTE BEST time of the year to catch BIG FISH (25 lb. plus) and LOTS of Eater Size ( 1 lb. to 3 lb.) catfish. We continue to have good trips almost every outing and always clean around 50 fish for a twosome or threesome! Danny Kings Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook in the timber is the ticket to a nice box of fish!
