LAKE OCONEE IS FULL, 81 TO 84 DEGREES

Bass fishing is fair. The lake is full with a heavy stain up the rivers and clearing on south end of lake. White and chartreuse spinner baits fish on wood structure and around docks in 10 to 15 feet of water. Shaky head with a dark green or black worm fished under docks in the same area will also pick up a few fish. With all the rain look for Georgia Power to pull water, and when this happens move to the bridge rip rap. Use the same spinner bait on the down lake side of the bridges. You can also use a small crank bait in the same area, match the color of the bait to the color of the water. Dark for stained and natural for clear.

Striper and hybrid fishing is fair. Umbrella rigs fished 100 feet behind the boat at 3 mph are still the best producers. The mid lake humps are still the best producers, some schools are on the south end of the lake where Richland creek meets the main lake. When Georgia Power is pulling water there is a good white bass bite on the humps on the north end of the lake. Use a Capt. Mack’s spoon and drop it down into the schools on the humps.

Crappie fishing is fair. Use your Lowrance to locate the schools of fish in the timber and then drop a live crappie minnow into the school.
