The weather has been weird all winter and spring but the fishing has been great as we continue to catch fish easily day in and out. Every day I get to the ramp expecting the summer dog days to set in and it just hasn’t happened, some day we see a mid day slowing but for the most part the good times seem to continue.

I believe the key is grass and contour breaks as the change in bottom structure is where the fish are hanging. You just have to be bottom conscience with your Lowrance unit and find the breaks. This due diligence will pay off, if you find the right change on the bottom the big fish are there.

We are still mainly catching fish on Tight-Line jigs with D-Bomb trailers, Missile Bait D-Bombs rigged as creature bait on a Texas rig set-up and catching fish on a variety of top water baits from Spro frogs to Assassinator and Secret Weapon buzz baits.
