Inshore Fishing Report! Still a hero or zero kind of fishing

Well, I can’t tell a big fishing tail without a big fish bite. We didn’t do any inshore fishing this past week. Please if you go let me know!

However, we did do a little offshore fishing!

Captain Kevin Rose showing us what Hero Zero Fishing is all about! In this case Hero would rule! You don’t know if don’t go!

    Artificial Reefs Report
The bottom line for this fishing report is so simple….if you want to catch fish and have a short boat ride to the fish, now is the time to make your plans. The next question is your boat or one of ours!

For those fishermen, my boat or yours, if you want to catch some nice fish and have short boat ride at the same time

From left to right: Brent Noseworthy, Captain Judy, Ranger Bob (is that right?) Terri Collins “Cuz Two” and Cooper Napoli.

I have to admit that this was a very interesting group and this is how it all unfolded! Brent, who goes to high school with Cooper, lives in Canada. When these boys graduate from high school they are both college bound with serious futures on their minds. Brent’s future plans are to attend college with big business on his mind. Cooper will follow in his family’s footsteps. Cooper will attend West Point keeping the military family tradition alive. Cooper’s father and grandfather “Ranger Bob” were both dedicated rangers. Cooper’s grandfather, Ranger Bob was one heck of a fisherman. He caught the largest and the most fish for this fish day. And not only did he do that, but he was very quiet while doing so! I have always said, “The quietest fisherman usually catches the most fish!” And once again Ranger Bob proved my theory is definitely correct. Terri Collins, “Cuz Two” works with those in the medical field introducing them to the Savannah and nearby surrounding areas. Terri became “Cuz Two” because my “Cuz One” also has the exact same name. And for a minute I thought she was Cuz One. Terri (Cuz Two) along with some of her friends fished with me about 30 years and was the fisherman that hooked up a very big shark. (As soon as I locate these pictures from this yesteryear fishing trip with the girls I will let you know!) This was a wonderful family and I truly enjoyed fishing with them. And I so hope that they don’t wait 30 more years, because if they do, well let’s say, “If my math is correct, I will be way over ninety!”

Ed Whittle and Bill Ridlehoover of Ashford Gardeners took a short fishing trip with us and scored almost every time they dropped their hooks!

Courtney Brown and Wendy Coates showing off a just caught Sheepshead! Last week Wendy was catching sail fish in Florida and this week she was involved in a true Sheepshead catching affair! I can’t wait to see her next move and of course I must add “Fish Beware!”

    The sheepshead fishing team!

Marlon Marchena, Wendy Coats, Captain Ryan Howard of Miss Judy Charters, and Courtney Brown! Had a great Sheepshead and black fish catching day!

    Gulf Stream Report

Captain Geoffrey Meeks is holding a nice black fin tuna that he caught last week while trolling the triple ledge!

Captain Geoffrey’s blue water tip for the day: Pull these lures rigged with peewee ballyhoo and catch fish!

Captain Geoffrey Meeks runs the tackle shop at River Services 2827 River Drive Thunderbolt, Georgia 31404 phone 1 912 354 7777. He’s not just an employee trying to sell tackle he is a creditable fisherman. With that being said, if you don’t want to see firsthand the ways of setting up your reels, rods, and tackle, please go by and see or give him a call 1 912 354 7777. He will be glad to help you with line as well as rigging, and is always up to date on the goings on of fish!

    As the Propeller Turns…
Captain Buddy shows you how to operate your boat and Miss Judy Charters shows you how to catch fish! A winning combination!

If you want to get your best chance at learning serious and safe boating skills, this is a great place to start! Give Captain Buddy Lee a call!

Little Miss Judy Believe It or Not!
Words of Wisdom form Captain Sherman I Helmey!

Captain Bill Marsh 1935-2013 and Captain Sherman Helmey 1900-1993 both gone, but not forgotten. All I can say now is it looks like some drinking and cigar smoking might have been involved!
Words of Wisdom form Captain Sherman I Helmey!
My father always told me that if you plan on sharing what you know you certainly shouldn’t be mad at those listening that following your lead! He always said, “When you have those that follow it basically means that you certainly must know what you are doing in the first place!”

My father wasn’t a philosopher by any means. However, he really did have a lot of things to say that were somewhat methodical. I remember this one subject in particular: He would say “It’s hard for a person to get where they are going especially if they have tried to forget where they came from in the first place!” According to my father those that fell into this category spent so much time trying to forget that wasn’t much time for advancement! Sounds something like Confucious says, but it wasn’t him at all! It was Captain Daddy says for sure!

    Thanks for reading! Captain Judy
