LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 10.7 FEET, STAINED & LOW HIGH 40’S DEGREES

Bass fishing has been great. The only thing being affected by the cold is is the fisherman. Fish are suspended in 12 19 ft. They are mixed in with white bass. The spoon bite and drop shot are going strong. Around Redtop. I'm using a 1/2 flex it spoon and 10 pound test Sunline sniper with a 6'6 Cashion CRT rod. Most main lake pockets with a breeze blowing in it has bait and bass scattered around. Most fish caught lately have been locating them on Lowrance sonar. Line side fishing is good despite the cold and wind. But with this extended blast of cold temperatures, who knows what they will be doing next week. The south end of the lake is still the place to be. All of our stripers are coming on trout and shad fished on planner boards and free lines out over open water. And all of our Hybrids are coming on trout and shad fish on down lines 20 to 30 feet deep on humps and points. The umbrella rig bite has picked back up. We are using a 4 arm rig loaded with pink trailers. Our better bite is coming in eyesight of the dam. We are pull our rigs at 3 miles an hour and a 100 feet back right just off the river channels.

Carters Lake. We have been getting a lot questions about the striper bite on Carters. Carters has been fishing very slow for me all winter.. The stripers just aren't active and I can't get a pattern on them. We are having trouble just finding them right now. Hopefully that bite will pick up soon.
