While fishing with my power professionals ladies from Atlanta I found out one thing for sure, “these ladies can fish!” And they are not scared of 4 to 6 foot seas either! Please meet Vickie Johnson and Bambi (better known as “Bam Bam”) Futch.
Please meet Vickie and Bam Bam both are holding a nice couple of black sea bass. What does the blue on this fish represent, at least from my point of view, an active male black sea bass. The hump expresses that these fish have been working hard trying to fertilize all of the eggs that the females are producing. The hump better known by me as the stress hump is formed from stress! (Now that is a mouth full!) According to stories told to me by my father, the males black sea bass is responsible for a lot when it comes to the sacred eggs. They have to round them up, fertilize them, protect them, and in some cases provide a place for them. The blue and yellow coloring shows us that these males were very active and strong leaders of their group! Just call me the Southeastern Black fish psychic!
Savannah Snapper Banks
March 31, 2015 Tuesday
Second fish day with Vickie and Bam Bam!
We caught the gold and the red! These ladies caught so many trophy fish that I just didn’t have room in my fishing report to show you all of them. We went on a big fish catching releasing offshore fishing affair!
Here’s one gold catch! While sporting her lucky fishing shirt, Vickie caught, fought, tagged, and released this beautiful red fish while bottom fishing at the Savannah Snapper Banks. Captain Kathy is assisting!
Here’s just one of the red one! Bambi Futch aka “Bam Bam” holding her just caught genuine red snapper, which was promptly released back to the wild. Captain Judy is just plain happy!
Here’s little about Miss Judy’s Gulf Stream Trips
14 hours trips
Back in the old days we proved catching fish at the stream wasn’t just good in during May and June, but also all the other months. Our nineties Gulf Stream motto was, “If the weather’s good, let go!” With that being said, “Blue water catching history is repeating itself!”
Captain Ryan Howard’s along with Cole Yarbrough aka Hollywood is taking a ride on his 31 Sea Vee Center Console (this is a boat that was built for especially for offshore big game fishing!)
Miss Judy Charters along with Captain Ryan Howard is offering a 14 hour Gulf Stream trip just like we did back in the good old days! Captain Ryan’s boat is a 31 Sea Vee center console with cuddy cabin powered by a single engine diesel, which cruises at 26 knots. As you can see from the photo shown above this boat has lots of fishing maneuverability. For seating Captain Ryan is going be offering bean bags along with cushioned seats. However, when riding in a boat like this you most likely will want to do a lot of standing and watching, because you certainly don’t want to miss anything. Since this boat offers a full 360 degree of ocean viewing opportunity you really never know what you might get to see! Believe me over the past years I have seen some sights from flying fish to mermaids!
A little about the fishing trip
Once arriving at your destination you could find yourself trolling or bottom fishing. It is all about the bite and what’s best at the time of your arrival. As far as trolling you could find yourself catching Mahi Mahi (also known as dolphin) Wahoo, tuna, mako shark, and bill fish such as marlin or sailfish. When it comes to bottom fishing I can assure you that you really never know what you might catch when you drop to the bottom. The reason being is there are so many different kinds of species swimming on the bottom at 150 plus feet of water that sometimes we even have to get out the fish identification book. You can choose which type of fishing that you prefer. We are prepared to change up at any time. The trolling as well as the bottom fishing is very good in this area, but I guarantee you this, if one type of fishing doesn’t produce Captain Ryan will switch it up!
Cost $2,300.00 (15% tip included for first mate) the only extra cost would be for fish cleaning.
Departure times:
All Gulf Stream trips depart around 6:00 AM and should around return 8:00 PM. Now if you want to return earlier we certainly can!
What we furnish and what you need to bring:
As always our boats provide bait, tackle, (rods and reels) ice for fish, and fishing licenses. As you can see there is not much cover/shade on this boat so therefore I suggest bringing hats, sunglasses, foul weather gear, and sunscreen. As far as your drinks and food I suggest packing it in 120 quart coolers or two 60 quart coolers. As with all of our trips fishing cleaning is extra and runs about $.40 cents per pound.
As the Propeller Turns…
Captain Buddy shows you how to operate your boat and Miss Judy Charters shows you how to catch fish! A winning combination!
you want to get your best chance at learning serious and safe boating skills, this is a great place to start! Give Captain Buddy Lee a call!

Little Miss Judy Believe It or Not!
FISHING IN THE FIFTIES
Well, yes that is me (Little Miss Judy) sporting her finest sun suit and canvas shoes…Boy was I styling or what?
I am posing on the front steps of my house, which is located on beautiful Turner’s Creek. Now let’s see, while taking a look at this picture I am sure I can spin a story or two. First let me say, “This would make one heck of a Pepsi Cola commercial!” Behind the pepsi stands a concrete owl and there is a story there for sure. When my father brought our house it was called “Owl’s Nest!” In fact there were two pillows at the beginning of our road that had an owl on each of them. And at the bottom of each of them was “Owls Nest!” And they are still at the entrance of my dirt road right by my sign. (See below) Our neighbor’s house was called “The Blue Jay’s Nest!” The entrance to their dirt road had the same pillows, but they were labeled differently. I found out that brothers had built these two houses giving them these separate names! the owls nest pillows are still standing!
