The baits I catch a lot of my bass are, Deep running crankbaits, jigs, big worms, swim baits and Carolina rigs! I will look for bass with my Lowrance Structure scan and once I locate a good school I will start out with a deep running crankbait, but I will not use just ordinary crankbait, I have Bag5baits.com custom paint mine. Two of my favorite’s colors are Powder Citrus and Chartreuse Blue Glimmer. These fish see a lot of baits out there and if mine are not the same color that greatly improves my chances.
Big worms like, ZOOM’s Ole Monster has always been a good bait to fish on the ledges in June. I will use it on a 7’3” Lews rod and reel; 15 lb test Seaguar, and a ½ or ¾ ounce Pro Tungsten weight. The Fluorocarbon line and Pro Tungsten weight are keys in being able to feel the bottom and know when I’m dragging the worm thru a mussel bed. Both the line and weight is very sensitive and I can feel this so much better than using Monofilament line and a lead worm weight.
I have a on the water ledge and electronics class to help you eliminate 90% of the lake and help you find these summer schools of fish faster. You can use what I teach you on any ledge fishing lake in the country. For more info go to
