LAKE ALLATOONA IS 3 FEET OVER FULL, STAINED & 80’S

Bass fishing is fair. Bass are continuing to migrate to deeper water, but they are still both shallow and deep right now. The warmer it gets, the fish will be settling deep. The top water bite is good in the morning and just before dark. The most consistent bite is the 3/16 ounce shaky head and a finesse worm or a drop shot with a Big Bite Jointed Jerk Minnow. At night, the spinnerbait and a dark colored crank bait like the Spro Little John or Little John DD are great choices. Pole makers and main lake points are the best locations for active fish, but brush will play more of a factor toward the end of the month.

Line side fishing is fair. The fish are back out of the rivers and are hungry. Flats and humps seem to be holding most of the fish right now early morning. There is a good bite from one end of the lake to the other. The Delta on the north end as well as Gar Bay is fishing well. Mid lake, the flats at Harbor Town, Galt’s Ferry and the beach at Bartow bite on the whole lake right now is the down line bite. Threadfins are working best, with small gizzard shad running a close second. Fish these baits between 18 to 24 feet deep. Overall, at Allatoona the fishing is very consistent.
