WEST POINT LAKE IS FULL, CLEAR & MID 80’S

Bass fishing is good. Fish have moved out to the six to eight feet depths on any kind of wood or cover. Look closely around docks for brush piles and other debris that will hold fish. Use 3/8 ounce black and blue jigs with a black and blue flake trailer. Shaky heads are producing in these same areas. Use a 3/16 ounce Davis shaky head with a Zoom green pumpkin trick worm. The early morning top water bite is on fire right now. Use buzz baits, poppers and walking stick baits. Work top water baits slowly as fish are still lethargic after the spawn. Do not expect very many bites on top water, but they will be larger fish. The best pockets are from the Hwy 109 Bridge south. Spotted bass can be caught on just about any point or letdown. Some of the best points have been from Wehadkee creek to the Hwy 109 bridge. Once you have located fish you can catch multiple fish without moving. Use a shaky head or Carolina rig with a green pumpkin trick worm.
