LAKE RUSSELL IS FULL, CLEAR & MID 80’S

Bass fishing is good. Stay up lake for the largemouth and there are spots ready to get in the mix. Fish are on the spinner baits and Flukes close to the points and try the docks close to the rivers. Try the black Zoom trick worm and add a small nail weight in the worm to make it sink faster. The spots will take the cotton candy or the icicle worms in 8 to 12 feet of water down the lake on the Spot Remover. Small top water baits are working really well along with shallow running active crank baits. After the spawn, expect to find singles and doubles all over the lake. Work the rocky points and secondary points. During the hotter, sunnier days, fish isolated wood structure with jigs and tubes. As the days get warmer, a slower presentation will be necessary. Good baits to use this week include Chug Bugs, Pop R’s and the Zara Spooks.
