LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, STAINED & LOW 80’S BY MATT DRIVER www.5x3nation.com
Bass fishing is fair. The swim bait bite is still hit and miss and at times hanging by a thread. The Senko bite with the 4 inch blue pearl Senko is starting to pick up. Use this bait on the 12 pound Sufix elite line. A decent Mini Me bite is starting to develop on the steeper banks especially the wind blown banks and are taking some decent spotted bass. Be sure to use very fast retrieve and cover a lot of water with this tactic. The Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology will show how the fish are positioned on the structure with great accuracy. Use the Allatoona Special color with chartreuse and white willow leaf blades. Be sure to use a trailer hook while fishing the Mini Me on those steep banks. Also catching a few fish on the steep banks is a Staysee 90 in chartreuse shad color.

Line side fishing is fair at best. The fish are still scattered up and down in the water Colum out over the river channel. They are starting to bust top water along with the white bass but unlike the white bass which will stay up for 5 to 10 minutes at a time. Hybrids and stripers are only staying up for seconds. Down lining live bait is working fair off of any main lake point down south. Carry a lot of bait. When down lining change your bait frequently. High water temperatures kill bait fast. Trolling is the best bet for numbers. Most of our fish came on umbrella rigs this week. Pull these rigs at 3.4 miles and hour 125 feet behind the boat and have an umbrella rig retriever on board. White bass fishing is still the best bite on the lake. These fish are schooling on top from sun up to sun down. Just ride with the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology until you find them. Mid lake has been the best. A Zara Spook Jr, Popping corks and Rooster Tails are working best for these little line sides.
