LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 4.12 FEET, CLEAR & LOW 80’S

Bass fishing is fair. The smaller bass are getting a little more active this past couple of weeks. The lack of rain the past few weeks has not helped Lake levels any, so you will need to be a little more cautious while running the rivers. Use a 1/4 ounce jig on twelve pound Sufix Line and fishing the steep rocky ledges both in the Tugaloo Rivers and Seneca Rivers. Use a spot sticker but try using no more than a five inch finesse worm. A very slow presentation is a must. Keep a Shad Rap in the moss back shiner or olive green color ready. Target small pockets off of deep water along the bank and watch for any top water activity. Fish the long run out points with Fat Free crank baits in shad patterns. Anglers are not catching a lot of bass but enough to cull some of the smaller ones caught on the jigs. Saturday will be opening day for the bow hunters. This will take some pressure off of the lake and into the woods.
