Last week we fished Monday thru Thursday, cleaned well over 500 fish and then the RAINS came!!! We've experienced some drought busting rains at RC over the years but nothing like what Mother Nature had in store for the Lake Area and points just East of RC! Well over 20 inches of rain fell from Friday thru Sunday over Corsicana, and the Lake came up over 4 feet in a 24 hour period. That's a whole lot of water in a 45,000 acre lake! The 24 Spillway Gates are open as of this writing and I'm guessing will be open for several weeks as the Lake is 2 1/2 feet above Pool Level. This is the highest level ever seen in the Lake's 26 year history!

We obviously cancelled our Weekend and Monday trips and will survey the situation and determine if we can conduct trips, catch fish and show our latter week customers a good time! Before the rains, the Catfish were going CRAZY as we had 100 day catches a couple of trips and on Wednesday, the five person Marshall Family from Ennis caught their 125 fish limit! We're catching Channel and Blue Cats in timber up the Richland Arm on Danny Kings Punch Bait on a # 4 Treble Hook. Lot's of action, good catches and great Fish Frys! We also had one trip (Monday) where we caught Catfish early and then found good schools of White Bass on Pelican Island and managed to put 20 Quality Whites in the Ice Chest before the school disappeared. We caught these fish on RSR Silver Glitter Slabs in 25' water.
