LAKE HARTWELL IS DOWN 1.9 FEET HIGH 40’S

Bass fishing is fair despite the inconsistent weather. Northeastern winds and cold temperatures have kept most of the anglers off the lake, but a few brave anglers were out on the main lake points catching a few bass. Stick with fishing the points with a Number 7 Shad Rap in the Hot Steel Color. This bait works well on ten pound test Rapala Finesse line in water up to nine feet deep. Keep using the Rapala DT10 for the ledges and points that drop off to real deep water. Shad and Fire tiger are working. Try the vertical presentation with the jigging spoons over deep water structures. This may prove to be difficult on the windy days. Most of the anglers are staying off the points early, then moving up to shallower water as the day goes on.
