JACKSON LAKE IS DOWN 3.4 FEET, VERY STAINED & MID 50’S

Bass fishing is slow. Concentrate on main lake rocky points and concrete sea walls for spotted bass and use jigs in blue and black jig. Try a spinnerbait off any rocks especially afternoons. The bite is very slow. The water is still cold but this is winter and it is expected. Some bass are being caught in the mouths and about mid way up the Yellow River and the Alcovy River. Anglers are concentrating on docks and structure that is closely related them as well as points. As the sun comes up later on in the day and starts to heat up the shallow water, try throwing a suspending Thunder Stick or a Husky Jerk. Stay with some of the more natural colors like the gizzard shad or the silver blue colors. Use smaller twitches or jerks than you do during the spring time. Even a very slow steady retrieve will work in some cases. With the colder water in the winter, downsizing and slower presentations will aid in catching more fish. Use light 8 and 10 pound test line.
