I have been fishing the creek channel bends with chunk rock/ gravel on them. The depth has been anywhere from 1 to 10 feet deep. But averaging 2-6 foot is where my bites have come from. I have been cranking shallow square bill crank baits in red crawfish patterns and Chartreuse Rootbeer that’s painted by Bag5baits.com. I have been cranking them on lews Glass Crankbait rod and 12 to 15 lb test Seaguar. The square bill puts out a lot of vibration and with the wide wobble the fish can see and find the bait better in the stained water. I have been cranking it just slow enough to make it wobble, seems like the slower the better. The majority of the bites have come within 6 feet of the bank so make sure you cast right next to the shoreline or you may miss the bite altogether. Also a jig has produced some fish for me in black/blue with a ZOOM Fat Albert twin tail another color is Green Pumpkin with Chartreuse/Purple also with a ZOOM Fat Albert twin tail.
A Rigs have been productive in some of the cleaner water along with swim baits. I have been using LBAbaits.com Swim baits my favorite is the whiskey color, in stained water I will dye the tail chartreuse. I am fishing it on a 3/8 or ½ ounce Elitepro.com swim bait head, on 17lb fluorocarbon and a 7’4” Lews Graphite rod.
