Inshore Fishing Report!
Therese Garofalo is showing off some nice spotted sea trout that she caught while fishing with Captain Matt Williams! According to Captain Matt, Therese caught these trout while pitching artificial around deep drop offs. The screw tail that she was using was Opening Night!
Captain Matt Williams is on the inshore fish hunt again!
For the past week Captain Matt has been on the hunt for fish! He has always been the kind of fisherman that keeps check on the fish that he is targeting! Captain Matt set his focus on reds and spotted sea trout for this week’s personal fishing adventure! I have always said to catch a fish you must not only think like them you have to figure out what they do when and where! When the water is above the mid sixties fish are easier to bring to your hook. However, when water temps are doing the teeter tottering thing fish bites can be few and far between.
Captain Matt Williams of Miss Judy Charters has been doing his due diligence! He is holding a nice red fish that he caught while pitching the artificial lures! And of course according to Captain Matt, just pitching isn’t exactly how it is done. Yes you do pitch the lure in to the intended strike zone, but it is more about what you do after it falls to the bottom. He has a series of subtle moves that he makes while on the retrieve. So if you want to give this type of fishing a try I suggest getting in touch with your own signature moves!

Inshore and near shore Sheepshead Fishing!
Captain Tommy Williams of Miss Judy Charters has been doing a great job of finding as well as catching Sheepshead both inshore and near shore. For this week’s report he is finding that most of the Sheepshead that were caught inshore were a little smaller than those being found schooling near shore. Captain Tommy prefers fishing the near shore waters for them, but in some case sea conditions won’t allow him that option. However, the best news is when he goes Sheepshead fishing, chances are catching will be in your future. The reason being is when fishing with him you have two options and Captain Tommy always lets the current weather conditions show him the way!
While fishing with Captain Tommy Williams of Miss Judy Charters, Brianna Conway caught this nice Sheepshead. For bait she was using the ever popular purple back fiddler!
The Ma-in-law fish!
Randell Conway while celebrating his 28th birthday caught this oyster toad. This fish is also known as a toad fish and sometimes referred as A Ma-in-law-fish. Randell and this fish definitely have something in common. Many years ago, I had a customer’s reel in a toad fish, pretty much just like this one. I watched as he looked at the fish from all angles and this is exactly what he said, “This fish looks exactly like my Ma-in-law!” And this is when this fish’s name changed!
Sheepshead, Sheepshead, Sheepshead!
While visiting from Elberton, Georgia this fishing duo decided to do a little inshore fishing. While fishing with Captain Tommy, Captain Stephen, Mark and Tiffany did pretty darn good! They kept a few sheepshead and released the rest!
Doug Kellogg
I received an interesting fish seeing and catching report from our own Captain Kevin Rose. He and Doug Kellogg went on the hunt for red fish. While using artificial jerk baits they caught plenty and saw even more! The color that worked the best was Watermelon! I guess the fish are trying to tell us that spring is just around the corner!
Artificial reefs
Bottom fishing for black sea bass is great! And the mid water column fishing for Sheepshead is also very good! Let me know and we will go!
