LAKE ALLATOONA IS .26 FEET OVER FULL, CLEAR & 78 DEGREES

Bass fishing is fair and there is still some schooling out in the main lake mostly from mid to the upper end. Lots of white bass mixed in with small to medium sized spots. They are very skittish on the top water. Try the Alabama rig for the schooling fish as the threadfin have just spawned and the threadfin the fish are feeding are very small. Once the fish go down you can catch a few of them on the drop shot using a very small bait like a 3 inch Cut Tail, Tiny Fluke or baby sluggo. Keep an close eye on your sonar to see these drop shot fish. Also a Pointer 7 will work around the schooling fish as well. We had a threadfin spawn last week so the Pointer 78 is a pretty close match the hatch situation. There are a lot of largemouth now available shallow in the backs of pockets and creeks. They are hitting the big 8 inch swim baits. Fishing the swim bait shallow. These shallow fish are active and feeding. Usually a drop shot, Fish Head and swim bait works well this week.

Line side fishing has been slow for the past few days. With the high winds and the rain we had earlier in the week, made fishing hard on me this week. But by the weekend hopefully fishing will pick up. The fish are easy to find on your Lowrance but getting them to bite is another story. Just keep putting the bait right on their nose and wait. Mid lake still seems to be holding most of the fish. But don't over look the pass. We have marked a lot of fish in there this week. They just don't want bite. We are marking some big schools in the Allatoona Creek arm out over open water at Stamp Creek. Fish from Galt’s Ferry to Kellogg’s Creeks. The fish are on the move so you should be as well. Our top water bite has been hit or miss. But keep a Jr. Spook ready just in case they pop up. The south end of the lake has been best for top water action the best place right now. The south end of the lake has been best for top water action. Trolling may be the best all round bite going. Mack Farr umbrella rigs in all white seem to be the ticket for the trollers and use your Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan machines to find the fish faster.
