There are many different ways to catch fish here on Kentucky Lake right now. A lot of fish are still shallow, with the water rising the past couple days and with more rain coming in this week. I think an angler could fish shallow, flipping has been good the past couple days. I have been flipping a green pumpkin ½ ounce jig and a Pro Tungsten punch weight with a ZOOM Z Craw in green pumpkin. A lot of the fish are post spawn with a few still spawning. I have also been catching them on a black buzz bait back in the creeks and flats, also a black frog.

Another pattern is fishing the points leading out from the spawning bays. The fish are in 5 to 8 foot of water my boat is sitting in 10 to 15 depending on the point. I am fish a 7 in green pumpkin ZOOM worm on a 3/8 Pro Tungsten weight and 12 lb Seaguar fluorocarbon.

Ledges haven’t really turned on for me I keep checking them. I’ve caught only a few good fish on them with only a few bites on each of them. I’m sure there are some areas with fish on them, but for me it’s not there yet. It won’t be long though! I would think ion another ten days or so the fish should be moving out, as long as we don’t get a lot of rain next week.
