LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, 80’S & CLEAR

Bass fishing is good. During the month of June, most fish are in mid depth ranges of 9 to 21 feet deep, even though there are some fish shallow right now. First thing in the morning, there are still some shad spawning, and the topwater bite is good. Use baits like a Spro Dawg and a Zara Spook. Look for fish activity and schooling around rock and hard bank. Some shad will even spawn on floating docks. Once the sun gets up, look for brush or blowdowns. A good Lowrance fish finder with GPS is key this time of year. The night bite is good and getting better as the month goes on. Lighted docks and shallow points are producing the best. Jigs like the Kacy’s Kustom in bluegill fire or brown and a Spro Little John are hard to beat. Remember to have proper lighting on your boat if fishing at night

This bass fishing report is from Matt Driver.

Line side fishing is great. The summer bite is in full swing. All the major creeks are producing good numbers of fish right now. And the down-line bite is nothing short of incredible. These fish are scatter in the water column from anywhere from 13 feet to 40 feet deep. Shad, shiners and bream are all working. Make sure you catch your bream on hook and line. Be sure to carry plenty of bait and change it often. Frisky bait is the key to putting more fish in the boat. Trolling is very good and we use an umbrella rig. Also, single buck tails fished a 150 feet behind the boat at 2.4 miles an hour will get you bit. Top Water is good early in the morning and late in the afternoon. And a white Rooster Tail is hard to beat. It is working well on hybrids, stripers and schooling spots.
