CLARKS HILL IS DOWN 1.3 FEET, 80’S

Bass fishing is good. The rain is coming back this week. White spinnerbaits are catching some while the top water bite is done after 9am. The spinnerbait will be a little more productive and the crank bite turns up a couple of notches. Fat Free shads and Shad Raps work while cranking the edges of the grass lines. Don't over crank; work the bait to fast, and the stop and go retrieve seem to be the best bet. Small rattle grubs in pearl and chartreuse will get you a lot of bites when worked over the top and on the edges of the heavier grass mats. The Fat Albert grubs are working well. Wood structure is a place that needs these grubs and a plastic worm. A Texas rigged and a 3/16 weight will work. The majority of the bass are keepers and the larger three and four pounders are coming off the wood in the shorter coves. Also, check out any and all windblown rocky points for that crank bait bite. Fishing will be good until about 5:00pm then it turns off again. The grass mats and wood will be the key areas to fish during the afternoon hours.
