LAKE SINCLAIR IS DOWN .82 FEET STAINED, 80’S

Bass fishing is good. The shad spawn is mostly over, except way up the rivers. But top water and spinner baits are still producing most mornings. Top water baits are working on seawalls, blow downs, grass, stumps, docks, and points along riverbanks and in creeks and coves. Loud baits such as Pop R, Dalton Special, and Chug Bug have been the best because of dirty water. Spinner baits are producing around any kind of wood cover and grass. But the grass is usually good only if the lake is no more than a foot below full pool. Try a Stanley 3/8 ounce spinner bait with double willow leaf blades in gold. Chartreuse, white, or a combination of the two will do the job. On some mornings buzz baits will also produce. Try a #6 Fat Free Shad or Rapala DT10. Fire tiger, hot mustard, and citrus shad are some good color choices. For the Carolina rig try a Zoom Trick Worm in green pumpkin or June bug with a Gamakatsu 3/0 EWG hook. Use a 2 or 3 foot leader of 12 pound line and a half ounce weight.
