Bass fishing is good and they are hitting around docks after the early bite is over. The key to catching them is figuring out the best lure and presentation each day. Power fishing a jig and plastic chunk can be the ticket if fish are aggressive. First try swimming the jig with occasional twitches. Next, try using a vertical drop beside the posts. Slowly sliding the jig across the bottom can also produce. Texas rigged worms and lizards can also be the ticket. Try a Zoom Dead Ringer or lizard with a 3/16 or ¼ ounce weight. Some anglers have recently had success with a weightless or lightweight Senko. Some bass have begun using the normal early summer points and flats in 8 to 12 feet of water. Crank baits and Carolina rigs are the baits to throw.
