LAKE RUSSELL IS 3.68 FEET OVER FULL & 83 DEGREES
Bass fishing is slow and the fish are a little sluggish at times. Top water baits are still catching a few early morning fish along with some of the smaller crank baits. Anglers really need to take full advantage of the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology on the lake as almost all the bass relate to offshore areas. Main lake points seem to be a favorite among anglers. Carolina rigs with either a six inch worm or four Zoom green lizard will work the points and sides of points. Channel ledges that run close to these points are excellent places to try your luck during the hot summer months. A little patience will also be necessary as bites are sometimes slow to come by. Good working baits include Sebile Swimmers, Ito Vision 110 jerk baits and the RS Shad Raps will work. Ask Ken for a sample of the BASS FISHING LAKE RUSSELL book.
