Bass fishing is good and most of the bass have moved to deeper cover, under deeper docks and the creek and river channel ledges, they are being caught on medium to deep running crank baits, 1/2 ounce spinner baits, Carolina rigged plastics, and jigs, the top water bite is still strong on deeper banks and sea walls early and late. 20 plus pound stringers have been winning the tournaments all year. The Bass fishing on Weiss Lake rivals Lake Guntersville for the last 2 years. The Weiss Lake Improvement Association and Weiss Lake Anglers will be stocking Florida Strain Largemouth this fall.

Striper fishing is good and they are being caught in the lower Chattooga River, at the Cave Hole in Little River and Little Spring Creek, down lining and flat lining live shad 8 10 feet deep in the river channel.

Crappie fishing is good and most of our fish are on the main Coosa river channel ledges in 12 to 16 feet of water, and they can be caught spider rigging with minnows.
