LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, 80 S & CLEAR


Bass fishing is good. Fish are somewhat scattered and there's no one dominant pattern. I've been catching several fish on the drop shot big bite 3.75 jointed jerk Minnow in the 16 to 25 foot range. Fish are not really holding to eating particular thing, most are in just open water off points. There has been some schooling activity of smaller fish main lake, with a mix of watt bass in small spotted bass being the majority of fish. There has been a decent shallow jig bot in the 7 to 12 foot depth range. Water temperatures are actually not too bad ranging from 83 to 86 degrees for best results early morning late evening with a good by at around nine till 11 o'clock.

Line side fishing is great. The bite has been awesome for our boats the past few weeks. Both ends of the lake is fishing equally as well. Down lining gizzards, thread fins and bream have been the best. All the major creeks like Kellogg's Creek, Owl Creek, Stamp Creek, Iron hill, Clear Creek and Tanyard creek are all holding good schools of line sides. Fishing is great on the main lake points from Little River out to Red Top Mountain State park. On most days we are catching between 20 and 40 fish. It's a mix bag of stripers, hybrids, white bass, spots and even a few monster crappie. As we enter into July look for the bite to move south. Fishing just doesn't get much better than it is right now. Grab the kids and hit the lake.
