  • Lake Allatoona Fishing Report - GA

LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, 90S & CLEAR

Bass fishing is fair. Look for these fish on main lake points and humps. Early the spots are chasing a fast bait early like the Mini Me all white spinnerbait in white with double willow leaf blades reeled very fast. Mid to late morning change up to any top water and change back to the light Spot Stick and fish man made structure on the main lake humps and flat sandy and rocky areas. Small to medium chrome and blue top water lures can draw the spots but the key is to move around and make only a few casts to each location. If the fish don’t cooperate keep moving. Night fishing has been fair until midnight. Spinner baits in all black, June Bug Bill Norman Middle N’s and Zoom June Bug u tails on a Texas rig are the three best night baits. Do not spend more than 15 minutes in a spot.

Line side fishing is good. The hybrid bite has slowed down some in the last couple of weeks. But the striper bite is still pretty good. Matter a fact it is the best last August bite I have seen in years. We’re not catching big numbers but 10 to 15 fish on half day trips seems to be our normal. Down lining shad, shiners and bream early morning and again right before sun set will catch you fish. All of our fish the past two weeks have come with in one mile of the dam. Our better bite has been on the umbrella rig. We are starting to see multiple hook to ups on our trips. We are fishing these rigs 90 to 120 feet behind the boat at speeds of 2.4 to 3.3 miles per hour. Use the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology to find the fish.

High end features have never been more affordable. Purchase a Lowrance Elite 5 Ti display by September 30, 2016 and receive a $100 rebate.
