  • Savannah Fishing Report - GA

Captain Tommy Williams took Dylan Childers, his father Corey, and his grandfather Ralph, all from Cartersville, Georgia on a family inshore fishing trip!

Captain Tommy Williams of Miss Judy Charters, Dylan Childers, and his father Corey of Cartersville, Georgia had a great catching time. Dylan’s grandfather Ralph was also part of the father, son fishing team. According to this fishing report Dylan stated that as soon Captain Tommy arrived to said fishing spot, he said cast here and you will catch fish. Well, that is exactly what they did for sure. They bought home 10 slot red fish and one spotted sea trout! Now that is not all they caught...They released quite a few red fish and undersized spotted sea trout! According to 13 year old Dylan, if he hadn’t been on board the crew would have had one blue crab and a blow fish for supper....so here’s the bottom line to this report...Dylan caught 9 keeper red fish while the others managed to catch one spotted sea trout, one keeper red fish, one blue crab and a blow fish! From this report it looks like Corey and Ralph are going to eat lots of hush puppies and Cole slaw as their meal! But don’t worry, they won’t go hungry, Dylan was planning on sharing his fine catch!

    Inshore Report
The past weekend was all about timing, location, and persistence!
My inshore report is not a thing like the others before Hurricane Mathew. The fact of the matter is the fishing is great! The past weekend was all about timing, location, and persistence! Yes we had wind, yes we had pouring rain, and yes we had very high tide conditions prompting over the top muddy water conditions! And when fishermen are handed such a bad equation the best thing that they can do is look, give it a try, repeat, and repeat. And this is what the fishermen over here at Miss Judy Charters did!
Let’s talk a little about bait...

If you are looking for live shrimp your best bet is to find a local bait shop, be in line early, and hope the bait doesn’t run out before it is your turn! Bait shops in this area that are operating at this time are Adams Bait, thunderbolt, Georgia and Joey’s Bait House (located at Hogan Marina Wilmington Island Savannah Georgia) And if the bait house runs out before it is your turn I suggest having your trusty cast net standing by. Here’s the good thing about this, you can always catch your own bait. Now with anything timing is everything when it comes to catching bait. Just right before low tide stage...after all those shrimp have to come out of the grass and when they do...you can catch them!

Fishing Docks with Captain “Little” Tommy Williams Rocks!

James Cartee of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Captain “Little” Tommy Williams, and Jeff Cartee of Muscle Shoals, Alabama (James’s son) experienced quite a red fish catching day! And I must say this fish day started out with full moon raging tides, serious rain fall that lasted about two hours, and muddy water conditions almost everywhere! You noticed I said almost muddy water almost everywhere...well Captain Tommy, inshore specialist with Miss Judy Charters, looked for a while, found his a section of water, and they started fishing! Oops, I meant to say, they started catching...and according to this report they left the fish a biting! What were they using for bait? Well, they started using live shrimp and then after they bite started parts and pieces worked just fine! Now you know the rest of this fish catching story!

James Cartee of Muscle Shoals, Alabama and his son Jeff Cartee also of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Captain “Little” Tommy Williams is showing us a “Fists full of fish!”
Looking for something interesting to do!
    !
    Daufuskie Island South Carolina!
Another great secret located on the coast! Now this is not a fishing trip it is a seeing trip! It is a must for anyone! For all the grand details I suggest giving Captain “Gator” Gary a call 912 604 1587. He can set up transportation to get you there, golf carts, touring, and dinning! It is a great place and it is only accessible by water! So therefore it is a twofold kind of a situation, because the boat ride is also very interesting!

    Savannah Snapper Banks
Well, I got to fishing offshore....however it was not calm but fishable...I do still love my job..because if I didn’t I would have had to quit a long time ago....We fished offshore at the Savannah Snapper banks and caught a little of everything from amberjack to grouper to white grunt to black sea bass to trigger fish to vermilion to some of those fish we don’t normally see such as soldier fish (considered a tropical fish) Popeye snapper ...so I guess this means the fall time bottom fish migration has started!

Two of a kind! They both love to fish and love to catch fish!

Captain Tommy Williams and Captain Kathy Brown paling it up at the dock!

The Underground goes about 2 feet over ground!

Captain Kevin Rose of Miss Judy Charters shows us the catching way!

Lance Carter of Raleigh, North Carolina is holding up a nice red fish that he caught while doing a little precise pitching! According to this report, Lance saw this fish, cast his soft Power Bait right in front, and the rest is hook up catching releasing history!

Mike Wells of Wilmington North Carolina and Lance Carter of Raleigh, North Carolina caught a lot and kept a few spotted sea trout and trophy red fish! What were they using for bait? Live shrimp rigged under popping corks. Mike and Lance are here working with series “The Underground” TV series number two!
Artificial reefs, Savannah Snapper Banks, and Gulf Stream Report
Sorry didn’t get to go! Rough sea conditions prevailed! But there is always next week! Catch you then!

Do I try it or do I not! I say “YES!”
I hate to start mentioning this but the Electron fish attractor would make a great X-MAS gift! (And for birthdays, anniversaries, etc) The reason being is if they use it, they will find that it’s a gift that keeps on giving or might I say, “Catching!” I have proved this many times over!!

If you have been following by fishing reports you already know that I am a strong advocate and user of the Electron Fish Attractor. But of course there are those fishermen that either don’t believe or just don’t get it! Well, I am a believer and I do get it, because catching is my business for sure! As you know I have been taking people fishing for over 51 years and I do know how to catch fish. However, it always helps to get a little extra outside assistance especially when it comes to catching! After all that is what fishing is all about! Heck, the tackle shops and the web are full of beautifully colored and different sizes/shapes of all kinds of lures. When it comes to a lures picked these days I truly believe it is more about the fisherman than the fish. After all and I have said this many times over, a lure will most likely not work if the fisherman using it doesn’t believe in it.

The fish attractor is neither a lure nor bait. It is merely an addition to lures or baits that you are already using. And as a fisherman I already know what I am using as a lure or baits already works. However, if you want to add to your already so call prefect picked lure or bait I suggest giving the Electron Fish Attractor a try!

Just so that you know, I am on the Pro-Staff team at www.lifesparkfishingtackle.com and I am proud to be a member! After reading the above if you are still not convinced you want give the attractor a try here are a few suggestions that just might change your mind...first go to the web site and give it a good read...and check out the magazine article that is in http://canadianoutdoorsmanmagazine.com/index.html this is a free online magazine, which to subscribe all you have to do is add name and email address...and then open the current Fall 2016 magazine...to around page 58 for angler’s X Files “Dare to Believe, Part 2..Understanding the 6th Sense! This article helps explain a little better the just of the electron fish attractor. (If you missed part 1, look in the 2016 summer issue.) This article helps explain a little better the gist of the electron fish attractor.

The same article is being published in the http://americanoutdoorsman.ca/#!/page_home, which will be available in the next day or so. Look for the fall issue. It is a much easier read!

You can certainly read all of this and come to you own conclusions or you can just take my word for it. It is a known fact that fishermen are known for not exactly telling the truth when it comes to the size of fish caught/lost or how they caught them in the first place. But in this case I feel this way; I am going to share this information with you! Yes I am fisherman, yes I am seasoned, yes I am proven, and so now are these fish attractors!

Thanks, Captain Judy Helmey Miss Judy Charters Savannah Georgia

Little Miss Judy’s Believe It Or Not!
It is offshore flounder fishing Time!

Talk about a blast from the past...Captain Kathy Brown of Miss Judy Charters is holding a nice flounder that Jackie Sommers 1935-2010 caught while using a small live sand perch as bait. Jackie loved to fish and he normally hooked up the fish that he was targeting!
    A Flounder’s blue print…
They do this thing that is known as “stacking.” I have seen them while diving back in the good old days. When I was an avid offshore diver I use to see large numbers of flounder stacked up like plates under ledges and in wrecks. The funny thing is that their tails were always exposed. I don’t know really why, but I have a name for it. I called it the “ostrich affect.” Don’t panic, I know that ostrich’s and flounder’s shouldn’t and don’t have anything in common, but in this case you could at least say that they do. When the ostrich hides its head they believe that their parts that are exposed are safe. The same apparently goes for the flounder also. When they are in the offshore “stacking mode” they don’t appear to be feeding. It appears that they feel safe; because it seems that they are resting very comfortable. However, pulling a tail selection will cause quite an upset. I found that over the years that in this case it was much better to look than touch.
We have all come to the realization that the flounder are most likely leaving their tail exposed so that they can note the current change. This might boil down to the fact that when their tail senses a change it signals them to feed or not!
As far a catching these “Stackers” it can be done. However, you need to be in the area when they decide to make their move. I don’t know exactly how long they stay in this mode during stacking. What we do know is that they have to feed! I have caught most of my offshore flounder on live bait while using the Carolina type rig. My most well received bait was a small sand perch. (4 inches and less) This bait is quite hardy and will last a while when hooked and re-placed on the bottom. You must give the flounder a few seconds, which seems like minutes, to swallow the bait. This all boils down to giving them time to eat and whatever you do don’t forget your dip net or your camera!

    Thanks for reading! Captain Judy

    Thanks again,
