LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 6.8 FEET, 60’S & CLEAR
Bass fishing is good. Anglers are using jigs, spoons, drop shot rigs and a few on crank baits. Concentrate in the 15 to 30 foot range at the end of points. For jigs anything brown with orange seems to be doing well. Use a Yamamoto Hula grubs in a cinnamon color and dipping the double tails in orange dippy dye to mimic the color of crawfish. Use them on a jig head and work them down points slowly. Use the drop shot and a 4 inch Robo Worm with a neon tail. The sonar bite is still going strong with the spoon. Most fish coming in and around 30 foot range with an occasional 40 foot fish. This is the best time to take advantage of the Lowrance Down Scan technology and you can count the fish on the bottom. Lots of whites, hybrids and spots are in the mix.

Line side fishing is good. Normally a full moon phase will kill the fishing, but this wasn't the case with the super moon. It actually trigger the bite. The schools that have had lock jar for the last five weeks have decided it's time to feed. And will eat almost anything, Shad, trout, shiners and small bream fished on downlines, free lines and planner boards will all get you bit right now. The bite is nothing like it is in the summertime. But compare to the last two months it is on Fire. Mid lake north has been fishing best for my guides. There is a good bite on the south end as well. This bite is running about four weeks late due to the warm weather. This can last into January and if we do see a shad kill it may be here to stay. Trolling the umbrella rig is probably the best overall bite if you are looking for hybrids and stripers. Use the Lowrance Down Scan technology and you can count the fish in a school. We look for these fish to be on the smaller size. We are pulling the rigs 75 to 80 feet behind the boat on a 16 to 20 bottom. These fish are on the move. So make sure you cover a lot of water. We have caught fish as far north as the S turns this week all the south to the dam. The top water bite is good and we have seen more top water this week. Fishing is fixing to break wide open.
