LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 9.2 FEET, 50’S & CLEAR
Spotted bass fishing is fair. The cold front will slow them a few days but this will rebound as the bait starts to school up in larger tighter schools. This is where the Lowrance Structure Scan and Down Scan technology will pay off. Anglers will see these bait schools from great distances cutting the search time way down. The spots can be in 10 feet of water on any rocky point mid lake to the dam. Dig the baits on the rocks. The fish seem to still be scattered for whatever reason but so not stop running points and cranking these baits all day. Do not expect any schooling activity just a single fish here and there. Use a light Shakey head and a variety of colors and sizes of finesse worm’s sand, natural blue and cinnamon worms and creepy crawlers. The pattern is quite simple, fish as many points as possible with spinnerbaits and jigs. Dark brown with blue flake seems to be working the best while slowly rolling it off the bottom stopping the jig on occasions. Slow crank a 3/8 ounce spinnerbait in the white/chart combination in the same areas and don't forget or overlook any boat docks that might be close by.

Line side fishing is good. The fish still stacking up on the flats and points from Bartow Carver north to Little River. Our best bite has been fishing big threadfin, small gizzard shad as well as small trout just off the bottom on the flats on most main lake points early and then again right before the sun goes down. The flats at Galts, Harbor Town and the Delta has been producing best for us. As we move into the month, the bigger stripers have moved back into the lake. And are already starting to move into the mid lake creeks. The flat lines and planner boards fished with large gizzard shad or trout will be your best bet for big fish. If you're after numbers, large threadfins and small gizzard shad will work best. December is one of the best months of the year for spooning. Use a ˝ ounce white Flex It spoon fished right off the bottom.
