Please meet Chris and Grady Newton
Jim Price, Chris and Grady Newton aboard Streamin made way to the artificial reefs to the do little sheepshead keeping! Although tides were raging making it tough to get positioned over the wreck big bites finally happened. As far as bait, you guessed it, they were using fiddlers. The fact of the matter is it took about 100 fiddlers to catch this mess of sheepshead and black drum. I counted 14 fish, which means it took about 7 ¼ fiddlers to catch these fish. Now in my book and according to my father the standard is 10 to 1! So they did real good!
Savannah Snapper Banks
Thursday January 19, 2017
Please meet the Grady Newton, Jim Price, Chris Newton and Dylan Ullery fishing team! While fishing on board the “Streamin” at the Savannah Snapper Banks in 67 degree water the team searched, found, caught, fought, and had a nice bottom catch!

Left to right: Grady Newton, Jim Price, and Chris Newton. Dylan Ullery also fished with the team and took this picture.
According to the report from Chris they fished in about 103 to 110 feet of water and used squid/cut fish for bait. While bottom fishing at the Savannah Snapper Banks they caught vermilion snapper, black sea bass, trigger fish, perch, scup, porgy, and white grunt also known as hog nose snapper.
The action was good with the crew catching almost every time that dropped. The keep ratio went like this....you had to catch 5 to keep 1! So with that being said there was a whole lot of reeling fun going on, which as you can see resulted in some nice keeping too! And I really do appreciate this report, because I haven’t been fishing in this area in while. Now we all know it is time to go!
Artificial reefs Report
Thursday January 19 2017
The Arkansas Boys showed up and we took them fishing! Please meet 6 great nice good looking fishermen!
Left to right: Mike fish “Darlin” Thomas Parker “Net Man” Stefan Ivan “Crooked Hook” Nathan Poindexter “Silent Fisherman” Adam Palmer “Cutie” and Eric Anderson “Precious!” All fishermen were from Beebe, Cabot, or Conway Arkansas, they were great, and so I gave them all nicknames!! Front and center Captain Deidra Jeffcoat “Awesome!”
Who’s Maw in law?
Adam Palmer aka “Cutie” is a member and in good standing with the Arkansas awesome fishing team! He caught this toad fish also known mostly as the Maw in law fish! And why is this? Because many years ago a fisherman pulled one of these fish in and the first thing that flew out of his mouth was “My goodness this fish looks just like my maw in law! Now you know therest of the story!
What did the Arkansas awesome fishing team keep? 32 sheepshead and 9 black drum!
What did they release? 6 toad fish also known as the “Maw in law fish” 5 ring tail perch, 4 undersized black drum, 11 undersized black sea bass, and 3 juvenile sheepshead! Doing the math they caught around 70 fish and it took 225 fiddlers to get this Arkansas catching job done!
Artificial Reefs
From Left to Right: Danny Jeffcoat, Captain Steve “Triple Trouble” Howell, Captain Kathy Brown, Captain Pops Howell, and front/center Lee Hicks! Well, we kept our limit of black sea bass, which is 7 per person per day and we had lots of fun doing it! Captain Kathy Brown figured out quickly that the smaller the bait the bigger the fish!
Captain Kathy Brown is holding up Captain Pops just caught black sea bass. What do I think I know about this fish? Well, my father always taught me that the bigger the hump on the black sea fish’s back the more stressed out they are. Since a blackfish is born a female and then later in life turns into a male it seems there could only be, for sure, bags of stress. However, according to my father the hump being so significant means that there were just too many darn females producing eggs and the fertilizing process was over whelming! And here come the rub, to many eggs means that some more females are going to have to turn into males a whole lot sooner.

Great White Shark!
This is a great white shark that was caught fought and released about 15 miles off Tybee Island, Georgia!
A couple weeks ago Andy Lipski and Robert Jonas aka “Birdie” decided that they were going to do a little shark fishing in a big way! While drift fishing with a nice size black fin tuna a 12 foot great white took them up of their bait offering. According to this report once the shark took the bait there was no denying that this was a big fish. After about a 20 minute fight the shark simply spit out the bait and the line when limp. With big disappointment Andy started reeling in the leftovers and once he got it skiing on the surface he notice that there was lots of tuna still on the hook. Just as quick as this shark left it suddenly appeared right by the boat, then it re-attacked the bait, and this time it was hooked up for sure. After quite a while of reeling in a little and the big shark taking back a lot they finally got this monster of the deep to the boat. As Andy was telling me the great white big shark catching tale he had a grand smile on his face. And according to Andy there were some that said, “That’s not a great white shark!” Andy and I both agree that there is no denying a great white shark. The reason being is they have a distinct shape and basically they act big, because they really are! Yes, the shark was released unharmed back to the wild!
I have known Andy and Robert aka “Birdie” for a very long time! As kids way back when and now adults they are both very good fishermen and hunters! So when these two said that had a close encountered with a great white I knew for a fact with a picture or not it was the real deal! I wonder what they are up too this week? I will keep you posted!
Making Fish Catching Magic!
You might call this application fish catching magic!
Now here comes the rub....These attractors do exactly what they proclaim, they really do attract fish. And the best news it that they can be added to any kind of lure, jig, or bait! So really it doesn’t matter whether you are bottom fishing or trolling (inshore or offshore) adding this attractor attracts a better fish bite! I have added electron fish attractors to all of my bottom rigs. http://www.lifesparkfishingtackle.com/ I know it is hard to believe that these small attractant do work. However, I remember when a lots of different kinds of lures that we thought would not work, but they did.
